MTCES registered under the Travancore Cochin Literary Scientific and Caharitable Societies Registration Act 1955(Act XII OF 1955) was founded in 1966. It has established three reputed schools in Trivandrum viz. St.Thomas Residential School (ICSE) in 1966, St Thomas Higher Secondary School (State syllabus) in 1984 and St.Thomas Central School (CBSE syllabus) in 1990. These School have established an enviable track record with excellent results in academic and extracurricular activities and they are the most preffered schools among the public in Thiruvananthapuram as well as in the State. The St. Thomas Training college, the fourth institute under the society started in 2005 and is affiliated to the University of Kerala and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

The Society with its unstinted commitment to excellence in Education is now in the process of establishing the St. Thomas Institute of Science & Technology as its engineering education venture at Mar Chrysostom Nagar, Chanthavila, kazhakkoottom, Thiruvananthapuram near the capus of the university of Kerala and the IT hub at Technopark.
