Department : Computer Science and Engineering - AI & ML

St. Thomas Institute for Science & Technology introduced the B.Tech course in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the year 2025, to train students in the rapidly evolving domains of AI & ML. This programme functions as an additional specialization under the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

 

Over the past decade, the Department of Computer Science has successfully produced industry-ready computer engineering graduates with excellent academic credentials. The department has consistently attracted top engineering aspirants from across the country and boasts a team of well-qualified and experienced faculty.

The department houses 6 state-of-the-art laboratories including: Object & Procedure Oriented Programming Lab, Microprocessors Lab, Operating Systems Lab, Free & Open Source Software Lab, Database Systems Lab, and Compiler Design Lab, all of which support the curriculum and offer access to high-end computing facilities. The department is also actively engaged in research and consultancy activities. Furthermore, the Centre of Excellence in Java and Python (CoE J&P) offers extensive programming skill development with hands-on training. The department encourages student-led projects in areas such as Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, and Robotics, supported by funding from IEDC, and has signed MoUs with Reflections Info Systems Pvt. Ltd. and other industry partners for collaborative academic ventures.
