Mentoring
- St. Thomas Institute for Science and technology has a strong mentoring system to provide students a sense of security and guidance for academic and personal needs.
- At the department level, each year has one mentor/ faculty advisor who can help the students by discussing the issues (academics and personal) related to them.
- He/She, so entrusted with the responsibility, pays personal attention to and monitors students’ academic progress during institutional hours.
- Faculty advisors maintain students' records with details of parent’s address, contact number, and academic details including mentoring report.
- In every semester, faculty advisors do at least two mentoring and it is duly updated in the mentoring record. This mentoring record is reviewed by the HOD.
- This helps to closely monitor students’ progress in terms of his/her attendance, punctuality, academic performance, and learning capabilities.
- It helps to identify, outside the curricular requirements, the student’s habitual deviations, utilization of facilities, and associative growth of personal attributes.
- Mr. Robin Thomas B.D, youth chaplain is appointed by the college to guide and counsel the students if they are having any personal issues which may not be able to handle by the mentor.
